Q2 2009 certification: Lakeview has been awarded the first BREEAM rating in Romania scoring a "Very Good" rating.
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the world's longest established and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure of a building's environmental performance. Credits are awarded in eight categories according to performance. These credits are then added together to produce a single overall score on a scale of Pass, Good, Very Good and Excellent. BREEAM Buildings can be used to assess the environmental performance of any type of building (new and existing).
The BREEAM assessment was undertaken by licensed assessors Buro Happold based in Berlin and London. BRE Global Ltd trains, examines and licenses organisations to carry out the assessment process. BRE Global Ltd part of the BRE Group is currently working with AIG/Lincoln and Buro Happold to develop a BREEAM version suitable to be rolled out for the assessment of all AIG/Lincoln's developments throughout Europe over the next 5 years.
